Jerome Hass, CFA 

Mr. Hass has over sixteen years experience in the financial industry. He joined Lightwater from Epic Capital Management in Toronto, one of Canada’s most prominent hedge funds.  Previously, he was a Portfolio Manager and Head of International Equities at Montrusco Bolton Investments in Montreal, where he managed $450 million directly, co-managed large global funds, and oversaw $1 billion in private wealth.  Mr. Hass also worked as a Portfolio Manager in London, England for Canada Life Assurance Company.  He started on the buy-side at Scottish Amicable Investment Managers in Scotland.  Mr. Hass also worked as a sell-side Analyst with HSBC Investment Bank in Singapore and Malaysia. He began his career in Toronto as an Economist with the Ontario Government at the Ministry of Finance. He holds a Bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Arts in Applied Economics from the University of Victoria as well as a Master of Science degree in Economics from the London School of Economics, and is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst ("CFA") designation.


                                                                                                                        Jimmy Chu, CFA

Mr. Chu has over ten years of experience in the financial services industry. Previously, he worked at a research and consulting company covering various facets of the Canadian financial services industry including hedge funds and investment funds. His duties at Lightwater are focused on developing detailed financial models for existing and potential equity investments, used as a tool for investment decisions.  Mr. Chu graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) designation.



                                                                                   Michael McCloskey

Mr. McCloskey has over 15 years of experience in and around the securities industry. After completing his formal education he joined the Toronto law firm of Aird & Berlis LLP in 1995 as an associate and was made a partner of the firm in 2000.  In January 2002 Michael decided to leave the practice of law when he joined Sprott Securities (now Cormark Securities) as an investment banker and partner of the firm. He joined Cormark at the time of a management-led buyout of the firm from its founder Eric Sprott. Mr. McCloskey remained Cormark’s second-longest serving investment banker until his resignation in September 2010.  Mr. McCloskey manages the GreensKeeper Asset Management division of Lightwater.  He holds a B.Sc. (Mathematics) from the University of Western Ontario, a JD/MBA degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business, the Canadian Investment Manager designation from the CSI and is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada.


                                                                                         Royce Mendes

Mr. Mendes graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  After graduation, he held progressively senior positions in the IT and E-Commerce departments at one of Canada’s fastest growing airlines.  Royce has been an active investor in North American equities with a particular interest in the Canadian resource space.  His duties at Lightwater are focused on developing detailed financial models for existing and potential equity investments, used as a tool for investment decisions. Mr. Mendes has passed Level 3 of the CFA program.   

  


     Jonathan Garbe
  

Mr. Garbe graduated from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario with a Honors Business Administration (HBA) degree. His duties at Lightwater are focused on developing detailed financial models for existing and potential equity investments, used as a tool for investment decisions. Mr. Garbe is currently a Level 2 CFA candidate and also is working towards the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation.
